1. Clause 1.1(c) clause 2.3(a) & (b)—seniority among BPS & TTS teachers—the seniority of teacher in each cadre shall be determined on the basis of date of joining—For the purpose of seniority in BPS, the date of permanent appointment in BPS shall be relevant—under clause 1.1(c), there are two modes of appointment of faculty members i.e temporary and tenure track appointments—tenure track appointments are further classified into (i) 1st term, (ii) 2nd term (Probationary and (iii) tenure appointments—1st term appointments in TTS will be initially on contract basis for a period of 3 years followed by 2nd term contract for an additional period of 3 years—such contract appointment cannot be considered for the purpose of seniority—2nd term (probationary) appointment also appears to be of temporary nature and after completion of process of technical review, either on completion of 4 years’ probationary period or if earlier, after 2 years or after completion of further extended 1 year, finally it has to be decided whether the probationary appointment shall lead to permanent tenure as mentioned under clause 2.3(a)&(b)—Held. for the purpose of seniority, the date of appointment in TTS shall be the one from which the permanent tenure is granted—on grant of permanent tenure, the appointee of TTS will be considered for seniority with the appointee of BPS.
