Documentary evidence

  1. In presence of documentary evidence which is of primary nature, the oral evidence has no value as compared to the documentary evidence. M. Shafi v. Sardar Ali and 3 others 2002 SCR 435 (A)
  2. The plaintiff has to prove the case on the basis of his own evidence as in civil matters the plaintiff has to stand on his own legs and should not take the benefit of the weakness of adversary’s case. Muhammad Shafi & another v. Sardar Ali and 3 others 2002 SCR 435 (B)
