S. 22 — Deals with duties of Police Officers who may be transferred to any part of the district or branch where they are appointed and not relates to transfer outside the district. Deputy Inspector General of Police & another v. Muhammad Yaseen and another 2008 SCR 611 (A)
S. 46(2) — Non-publication of Govt. order in official gazette — Effect of — The standing order issued by the Inspector General of Police in furtherance of the notification due to this legal infirmity is of no legal consequence — The respondents also blamed the appellants for discriminatory treatment, because some persons over the age of 37 years were given promotion as Head Constables — Held: No step was taken to publish the Govt. notification in the official gazette, therefore the order issued by the police officials in favour of proforma respondents in light of the standing order issued by Inspector General of Police was bad in law. Police Efficiency and Discipline Rules, 1992 — Removal from Service (Special Powers) Act, 2001 — Notification dated 25.5.2011 — Police force — exemption from applicability of Act, 2001 — The employees of the Police force are governed under the Police Act, 1861 and Police Efficiency and Discipline Rules, 1992 — Through notification dated 25. 5. 2011, the employees of the police force have been exempted from purview of Removal from Service (Special Powers) Act — Police Act is a special Act and in presence of one special Act, the provisions of Removal from Service (Special Powers) Act, 2001 are not applicable on the police force.
